Volunteer with us

Volunteers are the lifeblood of Sustainable Lafayette.  Volunteers donate their time to make Lafayette a more sustainable community through events, and education. We recognize that people within the Lafayette community have varying amounts of time available to volunteer. Below are the three types of volunteers that keep Sustainable Lafayette humming.

Board Members

  • Sponsor events
  • Establish Governance for the organization
  • Set the Vision
  • General organizational activities(Social Media, Fundraising, Volunteer recruiting)
  • Commitment- monthly 2 hr meeting plus 2-4hrs/month
  • Example Roles: President, Finance, Social Media

Project Volunteers

  • Work on a specific project from start to completion
  • Projects can last from a couple months to multiple years
  • Commitment: 2-12hrs per month for the duration of the project
  • Examples include Earth Day, Safe Route to Acalanes, and Leaf Awards

Event Volunteers

  • Spend a couple hours to a day supporting specific sustainable Lafayette events
  • Commitment: 2-8 hours per event
  • Examples: Wine and Art Festival, and Earth Day
