Lamorinda Environmental Action Fellowship (LEAF)
How would you use $1,000 to create a beneficial environmental impact for the Lamorinda community?
Overview
- LEAF is a $1,000 award available to Lamorinda middle and high school students with sustainable and environmentally impactful ideas that would benefit the Lamorinda community
- The award must be used to execute the idea, ideally over the course of one year or longer
- To be eligible, you must be a Lamorinda middle or high school student (must have proof of residency)
- Award recipients must follow up with Sustainable Lafayette within 6 months to demonstrate progress against the award
Benefits
- Students are given an opportunity to bring their ideas to life as the next generation of environmental stewards
- Lamorinda community inherits new ideas to help make environmentally conscious choices
- Enriches the relationship between Lafayette, Moraga and Orinda as we broaden the opportunity for deeper engagement within the overall community
Judging
- The Sustainable Lafayette Board of Directors will vote on submissions the second Tuesday of each month
- Candidates may be asked to present their ideas to the Board via a Zoom meeting
